Gearbox on main engine selected two gears in practice and jammed. We ran the spare for the race, but it was badly vibrated and underpowered. This cracked the frame. DOH! |

Using third engine. Slipping clutch from 2 1/2 hrs,which slowed us, as we daren't use full power,as a clutch change would take too long Carried on running though. Good job as it was the last one we had.Almost as many laps in 4 hrs as six!! |

Nowt, nix, nothing goes wrong, unbelievable! 6 hours, nothing falls off ,no one fell off ,and it went like stink! First ever victory! Have a new rider, Stuart Adams. He must be a lucky charm. |

Stuart was knocked off at 1 hr. Charm theory discarded. The clutch had to be replaced at 3 1/2 hr. The exhaust fell off with 10 mins to go.But for the clutch ,I think we would have won. |
My Two Cents:Most points yet. Forth in class by only one point. Hurricane Hicken in race win sensation.With gearbox and jetting changes in mid year, bike more reliable. Happy.

Rest of team buggered off on moring of race after all their gear got soaked in Cumbrian Cyclone ,leaving just yours truly for what should have been a six hour race.Running well until exhaust valve on main engine fell apart at 2hrs. Second engine started to seize at 4 hrs. |

As engine tried to sieze in the above race, I stopped racing to keep the engine running to do one lap of race 2. As most of competition had gone home, I could get easy points.As I leave venue, it starts to snow!!!! |

Different cylinder head to above race.Went like stink and was leading class when....inlet valve fell apart.Second engine not as fast but lasted OK. I like this new track. |

In practice, one of the cam bolts unscrews at 12000 rpm ,jamming the cam. This break the cam chain, and although I didn't know it twists the crank.Also in practice,spare engine bends valve. Main engine rebuilt over night, but due to twisted crank, flywheel wears through coils. Spare engine rebuilt during race, and fails after one hour, so I give up. |
My Two Cents:Most points yet. Second in class,but a bit hollow as results I finish near bottom of all races. Bike even faster, but needs to be more reliable. New 70cc bikes more fun. Become sad and go to bed by midnight, in effort to reduce seeing breakfast too often. Happier.

New machine. Lots of power and geared really well. Front tyre is made of from recycled non stick frying pans and no one can stay upright. As a result, the gearchange is mangled, and we lose a lot of time. |

Blyton is wet for start of race.When added to years of oil spills, it's very slippy. I saw Torvil and Dean outbrake me.Exhaust fell in two at 4 hrs, but otherwise good race.Best result yet. |
My Two Cents:Most points yet. Actually get in top 10. First time this bike used. New engine is fast, but needs to be more reliable. Tyres better from mid point. Gearbox needs working on. Vow to attend all championship races from now on. Announce from Sept 96, that all non attendees for races will be shot at dawn in attempt to improve moral. Better.

Sticky tyres and low gearing really helps at this short track. New manifold and bigger carb give loads of power.I was knocked off and ran over after only 4 laps of racing. I can't my move my knee, so I don't race. Inlet manifold cracks!! after 4hrs. |

Try to patch up manifold overnight. Still leaks. This gives weak jetting but only 2 secs per lap down. Rest of team gives up after 2 hrs even though bike is still running.Pitiful, I'd have raced it. |

My Two Cents:Most points yet( actually got some!) Bike better,but Little John, who actually owns the thing, decides to sell it. Decide we can win a race, but we need more speed and reliability.Improving.

First ever race. We first see bike the dy before the race. Bike only get passed race fit 5 mins before the race.We have square tyres, a 'skin off rice pudding engine', no choice of gearing so we don't get out of third. No track experience. A clutch that doesn't. A gearchange that won't. But apart from that ,it's great. |

New for race,5 speed box, works well. However cylinder head has tired valve springs and won't rev above 9000rpm. Bike suffers 2 punctured rear tyres, which slow use on the straights, but not the corners. Give up after 4 hrs when points have worn so much, the bike is vibrating like an Ann Summer special.I race for 2 1/2 hrs in one stretch. |

5 days before race, I f**k my ankle falling down a flight of stairs. Little John is suffering with a cracked wrist and Stuart (my bro) has a hangover and can't be arsed to get out of bed. We don't go racing. A month before the next race, Stuart loses his leg in an argument with 38 tonnes of Volvo. He should have raced. |
My Two Cents:Most points yet. 0! We got better though the year. Bike lost some weight and gained a gear. Obviously a little more effort is needed here. Just turning up and drinking beer is not all it takes to win this trophy. However, I think we did win a trophy for drinking beer, my memory is just a little hazy......Interested.
